Pray for Israel

Please continue to pray for peace in Jerusalem. Much of the world news has slanted their journalism to look like Israel has retaliated or killed militants for no reason. Israel has the right to defend her borders. This is a complicated situation but the Bible tells us to pray for peace. If you are interested in the recent violence here is a place for a quick update.
http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=39380&Cr=palestin&Cr1=

A great prayer for Jerusalem is found in Daniel 9:15-18

“Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. 16 Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.

17 “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. 18 Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. 19 Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”

Pray for Israel

Israel

1 There is no one like you, LORD, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. 21 And who is like your people Israel—the one nation on earth whose God went out to redeem a people for himself, and to make a name for yourself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? 22 You made your people Israel your very own forever, and you, LORD, have become their God. 1 Chronicles 17 NIV

I have not understood the relationship between Israel and the United States. During the past year I have learned more about Israel-U.S. relations than I have ever known. I better understand why many people in the world view the U.S. and Israel as one and the same. We have been very close allies. I admit to being a greenhorn when it comes to Israeli/Palestinian relations. However, it has come to my attention that the United Nations is being asked to vote on whether or not the State of Palestine is ready to be officially acknowledged as its own nation-separate from Israel. This vote is to take place in September 2011.

“In August, the Palestinian Authority would complete the implementation of the two-year state-building programme launched by Prime Minister Fayyad, he said, adding: “We have fulfilled our responsibilities and are ready to govern ourselves; the only remaining obstacle is Israel’s 44-year military occupation.”

Yet, the Palestinian people had legitimate hopes and demands, he said. “A new process has been set in motion, a process awakened by the failings of a 20-year peace process […] the time for change is now; there is no justification for the denial of the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people.” They would, therefore, continue to appeal for recognition of a State based on the pre-1967 borders, adding that United Nations actions, whether in the Security Council or the General Assembly, could contribute to achieving “the peace we all seek”. That would not be a unilateral action, he stressed. On the contrary, it would be multilateral, and the consecration of a two-State solution in bold resolutions – including recognition of the State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital on the basis of the pre-1967 borders and admission as a full member of the Organization — would help make a two-State solution inevitable. “This is a decisive measure that could finally convince Israel […] that its occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people is completely rejected by the world, and that it must abandon its destructive course,” he said. “Why should the Palestinian people be forced to languish yet another year — or even one more day — under foreign occupation?” he asked, declaring: “This is the time for Palestine’s independence. This is the time for Palestine and Israel to live side by side in peace and security, and this is the time for a new Middle East.”

July 26, 2011 United Nations, Security Council 10340,
Viability of Two-State at Risk without Credible Way Out
of Deadlock in Israel/Palestinian peace process.

The Israelis are very concerned as the proposal they have been working on requires that Jerusalem be divided into East and West Jerusalem with East Jerusalem being the capital of the new nation-state. It also requires Israel to concede land they occupied during the War of 1967. Palestinians already populate the area and there are concerns that the new nation-state could not keep its population within its own borders for long. The United Nations wants Israel to cede enough land for the growth of the proposed State of Palestine.

My big question is “How does one stop the population growth of a nation?” China has tried the one-child per family law to no avail. The population continues to grow. So, ultimately, how much land will Israel really have to cede? First this bit then that bit and soon Israel will disappear.

I know I am over simplifying this situation and I ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies. I started out writing this just to help all of us prayer warriors to realize this is a critical time in the history of Israel. The Bible calls us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I extend that plea to you. Below you will find some of a prayer from the book, “Prayers that Avail Much” (Vol. 1) by Germaine Copeland of Word Ministries, Inc.

Please pray as September draws near. I believe there is going to be a major move of the Holy Spirit in Israel this September. God wants peace in Jerusalem.

I pray that You, Lord, will be a refuge and a stronghold to the children of Israel. Father, Your Word says” multitudes, multitudes are in the valley of decision” and whoever calls upon Your name shall be delivered and saved. Have mercy upon Israel and be gracious to them, O Lord, and consider that they fight for their land to be restored. You, Lord, are their strength and stronghold in their day of trouble. We pray that they are righteous before You and that You will make even their enemies to be at peace with them. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper that love you in the Holy City!” Peace be within your walls and prosperity within your palaces. (123-124 pg.)

Elsa: Healthy and Playful

Elsa is healthy again:) Thank you for all of your prayers and support. She had a seizure due to a high fever. Ultimately, the doctors diagnosed her with roseola. This was actually a great relief for her parents. Ben and Kelly had been told a number of times that Elsa has a virus of some kind. It was so vague, that it just left confusion behind for the parents. Confusion is not of the Lord, so I know our prayers helped the diagnosis to come to light. Otherwise...how do you protect anyone from a "virus" that is floating out there. It has allowed mom and dad to relax a bit.

Reading the Bible

I am not the most diligent person when it comes to reading the Bible. I have read the New Testament a number of times. I have listened to both Old and New Testament readings at church throughout my life. I have even turned to random sections of the Bible and read them when the mood struck me. During the past 10 years I have increased my reading of the Bible but again in a rather random manner. So you ask...what's the point?

Well, I have a very good friend who reads her Bible everyday. I have known this about her for quite a while but we never really discussed it all so much. I have always admired her dedication but never felt the desire to follow her lead. Then, I moved away. We no longer meet every week and I wondered how we would be able to keep in touch. Little did I know that the Lord had already taken care of that. Immediately upon moving I started receiving daily texts from my friend. They never say much. It is just a Bible notation such as 1 Cor. 1-3. That's it. No comment, no direction, no greeting per se-nothing. Surprisingly, getting these little texts challeng me. I don't understand it. I don't know why. But getting that little text everyday is leading me to read my Bible regularly. This is the first time I have ever come close. Okay, I admit the everyday thing is still really hard for me, however, I am making a point to follow along and do all of the reading my friend has done. So, I may read what she texts the day I receive it. I may read a weeks worth at one sitting.

I can sense the Lord teaching me something about self-discipline through this unforeseen communication with my friend. Discipline is a word I have never really liked. I have viewed it very negatively. Even as an adult who knows discipline is not a bad thing nor does it have to be a harsh thing; I have just never liked the word. I have been asking the Holy Spirit to help me increase my self-control in various areas of my life. I never expected it to be so fun and challenging. It sure helps to have a friend with me, leading me on this journey. God is good and can teach us in ways we never expected.

Elsa

Elsa is my wonderful grand-niece. She brings sunshine and laughter to all who meet her. Unfortunately, she has been through many struggles in her short life with her health. So, today I am asking that all of you join with me to pray for Elsa. Earlier this morning Elsa had her second seizure. She is fighting off an infection of some kind that has given her a high fever. Please join me in prayer that she has no more seizures and that her temperature comes down.

Hot Summer Days

Well, it is July and it is HOT, Humid and did I say HOT, HOT, HOT? The Minneapolis area is and the entire Midwest is experiencing the worst heat wave in over five years. The Midwest also has experienced an extremely cold winter, and an extremely long and wet spring. All of the moisture from earlier this year has made the conditions right for extremely high humidity to join with the high temperatures to cause the dangerous heat. Reuters does a wonderful job describing this heat wave. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/18/us-weather-idUSTRE76G1CW20110718

I was praying this morning with my two long-term prayer partners and we realized the entire Midwest seems to be under such unusual weather this year. As we prayed the Lord showed us how there is a battle going on right now in the heavenlies. It has been prophesied by a number of Christian prophets (Kim Clement, Chuck Pierce, and Kenneth Copeland) that a new revival of the Holy Spirit will be ignited and come out of the Midwest in 2011. I believe that the weather has been impacted by this raging battle. So, dear readers, join with us as we pray that the Lord set the jet streams in order. The earthquakes, tsunamis, floods etc. are not from God but from the enemy. We can take the authority in prayer to release a "healing" of the weather worldwide. God loves His people and is calling us to turn to Him with trust and love.

Japan

My heart is grieved for the people of Japan. God has called me to prayer for the Japanese people since the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan last Friday. My first thought was "end times" are here. I then stopped and prayed more and realized this may be a sign of end times, yet maybe not. God has promised a "shaking" in the world for 2011. I did not think it would be a literal shaking but the physical types the spiritual. I believe there will be many more "shakings". So far just this year there have been earthquake "shakings" in New Zealand,Japan, Papua New Guinea,Pakistan, Chile, and Argentina. All of these quakes have been more than 6.5 on the richter scale. Political shakings have hit the Middle East in never-seen-before rebellions and uprisings by local people against their governments. Tunisia Eygpt, Libya, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Japan, etc. Even the USA has had some shaking in Hawaii and the western coast by the tsunami. There have been earthquakes in the US as well, Northern California and Arkansas.

I believe God is preparing for the greatest out-pouring of the Holy Spirit in human history. He is shaking the world to prepare us for the shaking in the spiritual lives of millions of people yet to come forth.

Kim Clement prophesied much about this time. He prophesied the earthquake in Japan back in 2006. Please go to www.kimclement.com to see an update from Kim Clement about this tragedy in Japan. There is a direct link to your right under the Some of my Favorites listings. The Lord is protecting the United States and is powerfully at work in our nation. We must not be blind to His work in the midst of the daily chaos we witness.

Please hold the people and nation of Japan in your prayers during the up-coming weeks and months. God loves the Japanese people and I pray that God pour out that love with miracles, signs, and wonders during this time. I pray too for Christians able to minister that the Lord pour out His power like never before to help heal this nation and bring people to Him.

Tianamen Square-China vs Tahrir Square-Egypt

I re-read my last post and realized that it seemed very disconnected. I apologize for that and plead mercy for a new blogger. I want to explain.

I initially set out to present a comparison of the Tianamen Square uprising in China in 1989 with the current uprising in Egypt. I realized that without mentioning the difference in technology available then and now the comparison would be incomplete. When I started writing about the technology it took up so much space I decided to make it a separate entry-sigh. So, now I am going to assume you have read the previous posting about technology and continue on with my observations about then and now.

I am not a specialist in the areas of neither Chinese history nor modern Egypt. I just want to share with you some of my thoughts as I have watched the news coverage of the huge protests in Egypt and across the African continent.

The people of these nations are all so different and yet their struggles are all alike. The majority of these protests are being held to demand change in the leadership of these nations. Why do so many people want change? Largely I believe it is because so many of them are not given any voice in their government and many are living in abject poverty. The students at the universities and the intellectuals who get involved in the protests want their governments changed to more democratic-like governments where people get to vote for their leaders.  They want to get their countries out of poverty and into better economic times. They want a better life.

I know that is very simplistic but I do think these are the two of the greatest forces underlying why so many people are revolting.

In 1989 Chinese University students organized a protest at Tianamen Square. They were protesting against the government and demanding a move towards democracy. They were calling for the leaders of the Communist party to resign. The Communist party was known for widespread repression of freedom of religion, speech, and gathering. Tens of thousands turned out to support the protests.

After three weeks of massive protests the government sent its tanks to squelch the protests. The military opened fire on their own people killing and injuring many. At least 300 people died and some journalists estimated thousands may have been killed. Thousands were injured and even more were arrested and sent to re-education camps or prison. Martial law was enforced. The world was stunned by the actions of the Chinese government. To say the least there were no concessions to the protesters and the government shifted to an even more repressive regime.

Currently in Egypt massive demonstrations are taking place throughout the country with the largest being at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Wael Ghonim, a Dubai-based marketing executive, is the administrator of a Facebook page called "We are all Khaled Said,". The page is named after an Alexandria activist who was allegedly beaten to death by police. The page is widely credited with triggering the first protest January 25.

Egyptian citizens and activists organized mass protests on January 25 calling for economic reform and an end to President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year repressive rule. They have continued to protest and are demanding the Mubarak resign and his government with him. This uprising is significantly different from the Tianamen Square uprising. This uprising was inspired partially by an uprising in Tunisia where the ruling party was overthrown. It has been ignited by the use of current technology primarily Facebook, Twitter, and in general the Internet. The Internet was shut down for 5 days or more in an attempt to stop the massive demonstrations. Many people have co-opted the demonstrations including the Muslim Brotherhood a powerful Islamic group who wants to rule the country. The Vice-President of Egypt, Omar Suleiman, a man liked by the people and viewed as a moderate has been called into a mediation role. Mubarak has refused to leave office, but most recently stated he would not run again in September when his term expires.

The entire nation of Egypt is suffering severe economic conditions caused by the massive demonstrations. Tourism has stuttered or died-at least temporarily. Nations across the world are being impacted as the days pass by.  My question is how long can this go on without another Tianamen Square episode happening? Will the military ultimately have to be called in to disperse the crowds? It is significant that the people of Egypt think highly of their military and the military leaders are hesitant to move against their own people. Thank you God! Will the Muslim Brotherhood or another extremist group hostile to Israel be put in place? Is the United States abandoning Israel by not acting more on its behalf as these protests go forth?

I am praying that God stay the hand of the military from responding with violence against their own people. I am praying that the people know when to stop and return to their homes. I am praying that God’s will be done in this unprecedented situation. As a Christian, I must remember God is my strong tower and I need not fear. I must trust that God, in His sovereignty, will not abandon His people no matter where they live and no matter what the impact these uprisings have in their lives.

The world is changing faster and more dramatically than ever before in history. It is important to cling to God’s promise “Psalms91:14
 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

Technology and the Protests in Egypt

1989 and technology were vastly different from the technologies of today. Do you remember when personal computers were so cool WITHOUT the World Wide Web (WWW)? Text messaging was exciting and done with computers. Games could be played with multiple players linked into the same system. That is what was happening for the general public in 1989. The Internet was not yet widely available and word processing programs were just becoming the norm for personal computer programs.  Car phones were the norm for those who could afford them. Portable cell phones were just being born. There were no cell phones with cameras; no digital cameras available for daily use although they were available for print media employees.
As I follow the news coverage of the Egyptian protests, I am constantly amazed at the impact that new technologies are having on the world.  It is clear that with access to the Internet and social media sites, Egyptian civilians have been able to organize mass demonstrations way beyond what has ever happened before in history.  Technology has changed the political world forever! I first noticed the strength of the Internet to mobilize people during the 2002 Presidential campaign, but to my mind this demonstration of the power of technology is much greater as it is crossing political, cultural and language divides.
This is a civil uprising that is unprecedented in world history, not just in Egypt. It is technology that is linking civilians from different countries. There have been protests in Jordan, Yemen, Tunisia, Syria, Sudan, Algeria, and Zimbabwe. People around the entire region are being encouraged by others in different countries completely due to the access to information the Internet has made available.
What does this all mean for me? It means that I must be aware of technology and its impact on the world. I must be willing to engage in learning new technologies or I will lose opportunities to communicate with widespread audiences-particularly those 35 and younger. It means that God has provided a great format for spreading the Good News. It means I must be willing to change how I view the world and the people in it. We are so much closer to each other now than in any time in history. I can talk with people in almost any country of the world on a daily basis and it doesn’t even cost very much. It means I must remain alert to how God wants His people to respond to this current day and age. I believe I am witnessing the greatest changes in world history during my very lifetime!

Prayer for Generational Freedom

So many people have been talking to me about generational curses recently, that I thought some of my readers might enjoy having this prayer. It is very powerful and constructed in a way I never would have thought of praying for my family.

"Prayer of Release from Chronic Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Disorders"
by Paul Cox

Lord, I repent and renounce and I ask You to forgive me and my generational line for coming into agreement with gossip, slander, critical judgment, envy, strife, holding offenses, accusation, and jealousy.

Lord, I repent for myself and those in my generational line who came against You by lying, denying You, speaking accusations against You, conceiving and uttering falsehoods from the heart, speaking oppression and revolt, and entering into witchcraft.

Lord, I ask You to break the generational curse and agreement when accusations came into the generational line. Lord, I break and renounce assignments and agreements with any lying spirit and the generational curse resulting from that.

I ask Your forgiveness, Lord, and I repent on behalf of myself and my forefathers. I ask You to break the generational curse and loose a blessing. I choose to bring my spirit, soul, and body into agreement with the Spirit of Truth.

Lord, would You make null and void and cancel any reinforcement of curses and their assignments in their allotted time. Lord, would you disconnect me from all ungodly heavenly places. Lord, will You now seat me in Your heavenly places.

Lord, I repent and ask forgiveness for operating in an independent spirit when I came into agreement with gossip, slander, accusation and walked away from You and the Body of Christ, causing disunity and isolation in the Body of Christ. Today, I choose by Your mercy to be reconciled and to be restored into the unity of Your Body.

Lord, I repent for coming into agreement with slander that has been spoken against me and receiving the offenses and not blessing my enemy.

Lord, I ask that I not conceive trouble. Please destroy the viper and spider eggs that have been placed into me—slander, hatred, self-rejection and gossip. May no adders or spiders be allowed to come forth from this generation forward.

Lord, would you remove all cobwebs of false clothing and nesting places that may be covering my body. Lord, will you also remove the cobwebs of false identity from my body and soul and remove all deception that clouds my perception of my true identity. And where my past generations and I have allowed the enemy to weave within me a web of false identity, coming into agreement with this illness as who I am, forgive me for gaining my identity from diseases and not from You.

Release me, for You wove me in my mother's womb and I agree that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Lord, give me Your revelation of my true identity in Christ, which I now receive.

Lord, would You completely restore my ability to receive all that I need from You including healing, revelation, and restoration of my spirit, soul, and body.

Lord, I forgive the Body of Christ for reacting in judgment and rejection against those who are being wounded by witchcraft and curses that are being empowered and reinforced over time.
Lord, forgive me for making bitter root judgments against those who have harmed me in any way. I forgive the Body of Christ for not accepting, understanding and protecting me.
Lord, I choose to forgive those who have rejected me and who, in doing so, have further empowered the curses already against me.

Lord, forgive me and my generational line for not having the strength to resist the enemy's assault on my mind day and night, and therefore accepting the feeling of helplessness in stopping this demonic flow.

Lord, would You renew my mind so that I can have Your mind and know that I can take every thought captive to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to know that You are my sure defense and that I am safe in the shelter of Your wings.

Lord, I ask You to raise up a standard based upon Ephesians 4:31 and remove all effects of bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander along with every form of malice. Lord, break off all generational curses, the reinforcement of curses in their allotted times in all heavenly places, and all spiritual, mental, and physical retribution. Lord, please protect those who repent and turn from their generational sin, witchcraft, and idolatry.

Lord, would You realign with Your purpose and heal the receptors of the cells that make up my being so my divine calling and destiny will be fulfilled.

I receive the promise that I am no longer a prey of the enemy. You are my Shepherd. You feed me and I receive Your covenant of peace that I may dwell safely. I choose to be a blessing around Your Holy hill and receive the showers of blessings You promise in season, that there would be fruitfulness and increase in my life.

I know that the bands of the yoke are broken and I am delivered from the hands and words of those who have made me a prey. I know that I belong to You and You are with me. I embrace my restoration within the Body of Christ and the restoration of receptor sites of my own body.

Lord, thank You for considering my cause and my affliction and delivering me and my generations—past, present, and future—for I do not forget Your law. Lord, thank You for pleading my cause through the generations and reviving me and my family line according to Your Word. Because I trust You, Lord, I am like Mt. Zion which cannot be moved but abides forever.

So I thank You, Lord, for delivering me and my family generations—past, present, and future. Thank You for redeeming me and reviving me and my family line throughout the generations according to Your Word. For as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so You, Lord, surround me and my family generations—past, present, and future from this time forth and forever.

Thank You, Lord, that the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, because the entirety of Your Word is Truth and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever. Lord, thank You for restoring the Scepter of Righteousness.
Lord, will You forgive me and my generational line for closing the doors of Your anointing and blessing. Lord, will you now bless me and open the doors of Your anointing and blessing and release the generational blessings, gifts, callings and goodness that my generational line did not receive.

2011

This year is going to be a very exciting year and full of movement of the Holy Spirit. It is now the end of January and I am still praying about and receiving clarity from the Lord about the year 2011. I want to share with you what I sense the Lord is telling me about this upcoming year of 2011.

Personally, I have known that for me this will be a year of great change. My only daughter will graduate from high school and be off to her chosen post-secondary program at a community college in Minneapolis. This will be a huge change for us. I will be living alone for the first time since 1989! I am looking forward to it, yet recognize it will be very different for me. Both my daughter and I will be moving from a rural country village into the metropolitan area and I am already grieving leaving the beauty of the countryside. I am also job searching and hoping to find a full-time job in the cities, whereas, living in this rural community I have not been able to find work for a VERY long time. Changes.  During New Year’s weekend, the Lord made it clear to me that it is not only a year of change in the physical realm, but also in the spiritual realm. My hope to be in ministry is nearer than I thought. God is preparing me to step out more in my faith and to start sharing with others why I am a Christian.

This year will be a year of completion. God has promised many things to me regarding working in ministry and this prophetic word of the coming of completion fits well with others who are calling it a time of harvest. Harvest is when the fruit of your labor matures and is ready to be picked from the fields. It is a time of reaping answers to prayers and a time of favor with the Lord beyond what you have experienced in the past.

Prophet Kim Clement has prophesied:
Dec. 31st, 2010 For the full prophesy go to: http://kimclementvault.com/prophecyread.asp?num=441

“For this next year shall be a year of my people doing exploits.
It shall happen with women.  Sarah Palin shall be a solitary figure that shall make history in the next five years."  God says, "There has been an abuse of women and therefore I will take women like I did in the Old Testament and they shall be one and alone, like Esther."  And God says, "I will change the kingdom because of one heartbeat for Me," says the Lord.”

"A movement of grace, for they will understand that it is unmerited favor, and that's what I'm going to give."

Are you people ready for unmerited favor?  Are My Warriors prepared to shout and say, "I believe that this is the beginning of unmerited favor?"  It will be a favor that is so different that people shall say, "this is not fair, this is not fair!

Prophet Kim affirms that it will be a year of great favor and grace. He is also
Prophesing about great changes coming to ministries, the music industry, and more.

Bob Jones and Paul Keith Davis agree with these prophesies and in addition speak about a time of difficulty coming for the world. This link will take you to the full prophecy http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/9501

“. . .we are entering a time of profound spiritual conflict and outpouring with the "sons of light" emerging with substantial anointing and authority. “
I have read many of the prophesies by Christian prophets about 2011 and what becomes abundantly clear to me is that God will be pouring out favor, signs, and wonders upon His people. Those who are prepared will receive. There will be difficult days ahead and God is assuring us that He is with us. We must stand firm and not let the enemy create fear within us that hinders our ability to do the Lord’s work. Women will emerge in ministry and as leaders in the political and business realms. God will honor women who have honored Him even when the world has hated them. A new anointing and authority will be released to those who are prepared to serve God during this season.

So, I speak to you, my readers and welcome you to 2011. Prepare your hearts for the Lord to enter in and bless you in ways you can not imagine. Read and study Psalms 25 and 26. They will guide you in 2011. Fear not when the news is frightening. God loves you and will bless you abundantly in 2011.

In Memory

You will notice that today I posted two youtube videos created by my daughter Kathryn. These were created to express the love and concern she felt during Bob's struggle with cancer and then with his death. As 2011 begins I am remembering how Bob impacted my life. He had a great sense of humor and he loved the Lord. The combination often brought the congregation at our church to belly laughs during his offering messages. I think about Bob when I remember turning to him and his wife Glennis in one of my very worst hours. They sat and listened. Bob showed compassion by just being there and offering comfort as I sobbed. I miss him very much.

Taylor Dayton was a young man of just 19 years old. He suffered from depression and in his sorrow and despair took his own life the week after Christmas 2010. His death has brought to the forefront of my mind how fragile we can be. Taylor was well loved. He was a star athlete in high school and received a lot of attention for his abilities to excel at sports. Yet, merely six months away from high school, facing adult life without crowds to cheer him on-he floundered.  I know Taylor accepted Jesus into his life as I was his teacher for over a year at the youth classes at church. I am reassured by God's promise that I will be reunited with Taylor again when I reach heaven. I can't wait to give him a big hug and to see his huge grin. I am so grateful that Taylor had come to know the Lord as his savior and friend. I grieve that he felt so alone and in so much pain that he chose to leave this life here on earth.

I dedicate these videos to the memory of these two men of God.
